Pricing Announcement

It’s great to see so many of you making use of the software over the last month and many are now confident enough to be using it as a live payroll system. More than 20 companies ran actual live payroll in February, paying in excess of 100 employees – this is before we’ve even launched!

Pricing

With the product now feature ready and many of you processing live data, pricing has now (understandably) become the top subject that I’m getting asked about.

So here, finally, is our proposed pricing model. It’s not currently publicly accessible, but assuming I don’t get any overwhelmingly negative feedback on it from you then it’ll be public later in the week. So do let me know what you think.

Feature Progress

Pension Provider Direct Integration: We’re now integrated with Smart Pension. NEST and Peoples Pension will be added soon.

Attachment of Earnings: We now have support for a range of Attachment of Earnings Orders.

CIS & VAT: The system now deals nicely with CIS Subcontractors that are VAT registered.

CIS Payment & Deduction Statements: These are now supported. And you can have them automatically sent out.

Contextual In-app Help: There is now off-and-onable help appearing in-app to better explain the various options.

Better Pension Flow: The whole process of setting up Pensions and opting -in/out, etc has been greatly improved based on the feedback received.

Significantly Improved Speed: We spent a fair amount of time this month focused on performance and have managed to make a lot of gains. You should find a lot of areas are significantly faster than they were.

Better handling of large data sets: A few of you are processing thousands of entries per payrun. So we’ve introduced some UI changes to make this easier to manage (pagination, filters). These only kick in when you have a lot of entries, so wont get in the way for those running relatively smaller payruns.

API Tokens: You can now create and use API tokens. Click on your profile image in the main navigation to get to them. The use of them is covered in the API docs and out API Operation pages also support them along side the OAuth Token.

Choose Start Page: Some of you don’t want to start on the dashboard when you first log in. So if you click your profile image and choose “Edit Profile” you’ll see you can now choose a different page as your start page.

3, 2, 1… Launch!

There are still lots of ‘nice-to-haves’ that we’ll be adding over the coming weeks and months. But it looks like all the essentials are in place and we’re now ‘feature complete’ for launch.

It was exactly one year ago this week that I started building this. Payroll turned out to have a lot more complexities to it than I had first thought!

I’m eternally grateful to all of you that have helped me by testing features, giving feedback and answering some of my more naive questions at unsociable hours.
